More shuffling in the Twins roster after an injury to Danny Santana Monday.

Santana left the game in Oakland with a strained hamstring and landed on the 15-day disabled list. Byron Buxton will return from Rochester.

Buxton, who started the season as the Twins’ centerfielder, has bounced back after being sent to the minors by hitting .336 with six homers in AAA.

Pitcher Kyle Gibson is due to return from the DL to make a start Thursday at home against the Rays. He will take Phil Hughes’ spot in the rotation.

Hughes will become the Twins’ long reliever with Ricky Nolasco and Pat Dean remaining in the starting rotation.
