Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Republican leaders continue state budget negotiations, as they continue trying to agree on spending targets for major categories such as E-12 education, human services, higher ed and transportation. The governor says budget bills that House and Senate Republicans have agreed on are “riddled” with hundreds of riders on controversial policy questions
It’s likely that some of those measures will be taken off the table, but some are “hot button” issues for Republicans and they’ll be reluctant to move forward with negotiations unless they’re addressed.
