South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and legislative leaders announced a budget deal Monday that would lead to two percent increases for schools, state workers and Medicaid providers.
That came after the earlier projection of no increases due to low revenues.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, a member of the Joint Appropriations Committee, says adjustments to Medicaid spending and statewide maintenance and repair costs was a big factor in the increases..

Hunhoff says they also got a higher than expected revenue report….

Hunhoff says there are still a number of undecided spending bills…..

Hunhoff expects those budget negotiations to go down to the final day.
