Several issues surrounding internet service and privacy have popped up in recent days.
Congress has approved a bill and sent on to the President that would allow internet service providers to sell the browsing data of their customers. The FCC is also again making moves to change the net neutrality rules.
South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson says there are different opinions on net neutrality…..

Nelson says at the same time, they are seeing a push from the federal level to continue the expansion of high speed, broadband service…..

Nelson says paying for that expansion is the tough part….

Broadband is considered critical for business expansion in rural states like South Dakota.
