Bruce Boudreau will be back on the bench next season for Minnesota, despite the team’s first absence from the playoffs in seven years.
Boudreau says he hadn’t broached his future with Wild general manager Paul Fenton until a reporter asked the boss about the coach’s job status while they sat next to each other at the podium for their season-ending news conference.
Boudreau has one year left on his contract, but Fenton says he’s “sure” he will speak to him eventually about an extension.
