The Nebraska Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments of a lower court decision Friday that threw out state approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline route through the state.
BOLD Nebraska’s Jane Kleeb says if the high court backs the lower court decision then Trans Canada will have to go through the State Public Service Commission to get approval for their project.
Kleeb says if the Supreme Court overturns the lower court decision then the fate of Keystone XL lies in President Obama’s hands.
Kleeb says BOLD Nebraska feels very confident about landowners challenging the route and having the lower court decision upheld. She says private property rights and the Ogallala Aquifer are all at stake with this decision.
