Gabby Boever of the South Dakota State women’s basketball team has been granted a sixth year of eligibility, NCAA officials announced Thursday.

“This is great news for Gabby and her family. It will be fun to see her back on the court for another season with her teammates,” Jackrabbit head coach Aaron Johnston said. “She’s dealt with some tough injuries during her career and I know she will appreciate this opportunity to compete again.”

The Jackrabbits’ starting point guard in 2012-13 and 2013-14, Boever led SDSU in assists and steals both years and ranked first in steals in The Summit League in 2013-14.

The Worthington, Minn., native enters the upcoming season needing 3 steals for 10th on SDSU’s career steals list and 16 steals to enter The Summit League’s top 20 career steals list.
