Body of Missing Yankton Woman Found – Murder Charges Filed

The Yankton County Sheriffs Office was notified by the Menominee County Michigan Sheriff’s Office that a body was recovered in a river in rural Menominee Township Michigan.
Preliminary identification indicates that the body recovered is that of Tamara LaFramboise who was reported missing to the Yankton County Sheriffs Office on March 5, 2019.
The Yankton County States Attorney’s Office filed a complaint charging 45 year old Stephen Robert Falkenberg of Yankton with 2nd Degree Murder. Falkenberg was subsequently apprehended in Sioux Falls, South Dakota by the Minnehaha County Fugitive Task Force Monday afternoon. Falkenberg will be held at the Yankton County Jail.
A multijurisdictional investigation is being conducted by the Yankton County
Sheriffs Office, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, Menominee County Michigan Sheriffs Office, Michigan State Police and Michigan State Crime Lab.
Additional Information will be released when it is deemed not to compromise the ongoing investigation.
