Body of Missing Yankton Woman Found in Nebraska

Family members of 59 year old Phyllis Ann Hunhoff of Yankton reported her as a missing person to the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. Searches were conducted in the Yankton area over the last few days by members of the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Yankton County Search and rescue, South Dakota Game Fish and Parks, South Dakota Highway Patrol and members of the public in an effort to locate Phyllis.
Wednesday afternoon the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Knox County Nebraska law enforcement that the vehicle belonging to Phyllis Hunhoff was located in Knox County Nebraska in a rural area on the Santee Sioux Reservation. A deceased female identified as Phyllis Hunhoff was found inside of the vehicle. Foul play is suspected.
A multi agency investigation is underway involving the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, Knox County Nebraska Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Santee Tribal Police.
