Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail officials say they’ve caught up with the back log of ag rail shipments. Much of that includes fertilizer that farmers have needed for spring planting. BNSF Vice President of Ag Services John Miller says they put a plan in place last month to solve the backlog and have been able to achieve that goal.
Miller says they were able to service their South Dakota customers very well by following that plan.
Miller says BNSF has committed to improving its service and intends to do even more in the future.
Miller says a lot of their upgrading and adding of services has been concentrated in the Northern part of the U.S. with a great deal of that geared toward agriculture’s needs.
