Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway officials have announced their Capital Plan for next year that involves spending $ 6 billion to go toward easing rail congestion. BNSF Assistant Vice President of Marketing John Miller says that’s a significant investment to meet the needs of their customers including agriculture.
Miller says they’re also adding 330 new locomotives to help meet the overall demand of many growing industries.
He says part of their planned expansion for 2015 includes more tracking that will allow more ag goods to get to export markets.
Miller says their $ 6 billion capital outlay plan is a new record for all class one railroads as well as their business.
