Blue Ribbon Report Could Create Difficult Votes for SD Legislators

The issue of money for education will be a major headline for the 2016 legislature.
Dave Owen, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says the Blue Ribbon Task Force will focus the issue……

The Blue Ribbon report is recommending about seventy five million dollars in new taxes, mostly through an increase in the sales tax. Owen says that will be a difficult vote for most legislators….

Owen says an important cue will come from Governor Dennis Daugaard……

The legislative session open on January 12th.
