North Dakota State and Omaha will meet in Tuesday’s night’s Summit League men’s final in Sioux Falls after notching narrow victories in Monday’s semifinals.

Two days after posting the biggest upset in Summit League Tournament history over South Dakota State , No. 8 seed Western Illinois almost carried their magic into the tournament finals.

The Fighting Leathernecks got two looks to tie at the end of regulation, but both missed their mark, and No. 4 seed North Dakota State hung on for the hard-fought, 76-73 win.

Much like the first two meetings of the season between Omaha and Purdue Fort Wayne, Monday’s Summit League Tournament semifinal came down to the end. But, unfortunately for the No. 3 seed Mastodons, the result remained the same, as the No. 2 seed Mavericks hung on for a 61-60 win to advance to the tournament title game for the second time in three season.
