The Biotechnology Innovation Organization is hailing this week’s executive order issued by President Donald Trump. It calls for streamlining of biotech processes and removal of overly burdensome regulations. Bio’s Vice President of Food and Agriculture Dana O’Brien says one of the most important impacts from the executive order is providing certainty to biotech regulations.
He says companies developing biotech companies are positioned to solving the myriad of problems facing agriculture today.
O’Brien says biotech companies are working efficiently with helping farmers sustainably produce the food a growing world population needs.
O’Brien says with prudent regulations, the biotech industry is able to bring market biology driven solutions that are improving nutrition, reducing food waste, increasing crop yield and combating debilitating crop diseases.
