Growth Energy officials are seeing some positives for the biofuels industry with the latest update from the Energy Information Administration and EPA moving ahead with rule making on year-round use of E15. Growth Energy’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley says the recent EIA outlook report shows the price of regular gasoline going up, while the price of biofuels is going down.

He says despite a tight time frame, the EPA is also committed to moving forward with rule making for year round use of E15.

Bliley says the process would go quicker if the agency would just concentrate on E15 and not tie it to RINs. However, EPA must address the RFS waiver issue.

Bliley says there are over 1,700 gas stations that offer E15 and once the Reid Vapor Pressure Rule is lifted that number could more than double.
