Members of the biofuels industry are pleased with the provision in the Build Back Better Act Budget Bill that calls for $960 million for competitive grants for biofuels infrastructure. That provision includes aid for storage tanks, fuel dispensers that apply higher blends of ethanol above E-10 as well as biodiesel blends of B-20. Iowa Corn Grower’s Association Director of Marketing Grant Menke says it’s encouraging to know the President and some Congress people see the positive effect biofuels can have on reducing carbon emissions.

He says biofuels are the most cost- effective way for the United States to become carbon neutral in the future.

Menke says there are so many positives for biofuels including both environmental and economic and they’re the quickest way in improving the nation’s carbon footprint.

Menke says the provisions in the budget bill is a high priority of the Iowa Corn Grower’s Association and their Government Relations team has been working to make sure there’s funding for biofuels infrastructure and that Congress pass this measure.
