Growth Energy along with the Renewable Fuels Association have filed a motion for partial summary judgement in a freedom of information request regarding small refinery exemptions from the Renewable Fuel Standard. Growth Energy’s Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Chris Bliley says they’ve made a number of requests for that information that includes the name of the refiner, the location and the amount of exemption requested.

He says the massive numbers of exemptions from the RFS that have been granted by EPA has led to huge destruction and negative impacts for biofuel producers, farmers and consumers.

Bilely says besides the needed transparency they’re asking for, they’re also weighing in with policy makers and the courts to make sure the 10th circuit court decision is applied nationwide.

The FOIA request covers compliance years 2015, 2016 and 2017.
