Biofuel Groups Call for Meeting With President Obama

Representatives of several biofuel groups including the American Coalition for Ethanol have written President Obama requesting a high level meeting to discuss renewable fuel volume obligations under the Renewable Fuel Standard. ACE Executive Vice President Brian Jennings says the groups feel the President is dragging his feet on the issue. He says with the President due to visit South Dakota Friday, now is a good time to ask for the meeting.

Jennings says the delay in getting out the RFS volume requirements has cost the advanced biofuel industry lots of money especially for investors into those projects.

He says the President’s appearance in Watertown on Friday gives him a great opportunity to show his support for the RFS and renewable fuels in general.
Besides the American Coalition for Ethanol, signing onto the letter are the Renewable Fuels Association, Growth Energy, National Corn Growers Association, POET, DSM, Novozymes, Bio and Abengoa.
