The National Biodiesel Board wants Congress to extend the biodiesel tax incentive before it expires at the end of this year. NBB’s Kaleb Little says they’ll be weighing in with Congress during the lame duck session in hopes of getting it approved.
He says the biodiesel industry needs certainty and a more stable tax measure in place.
Little says they’re requesting a producers credit partially because they don’t want foreign companies to be able to obtain the tax break.
Little says the biodiesel industry is bringing tremendous dividends in reducing emissions, strengthening energy security and creating jobs and economic activity. He says biodiesel supports nearly 48,000 jobs and $1.9 billion in wages across the country.
