National Biodiesel Board leaders have sent a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy asking her to immediately establish biodiesel volumes under the Renewable Fuel Standard. Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evans says the uncertainty caused by lack of those volumes being set has hit many biodiesel plants and personally effected one of their governing board members.
Evans says in the letter, Wooten challenged McCarthy’s recent remarks that suggested the RFS delays haven’t hurt renewable fuels industries. Evans says what happened to Wooten is occurring all over the biodiesel industry.
Evans says Wooten also challenged the EPA administrator to come to his shuttered plant and talk to some of the laid off workers or visit any biodiesel plant across the country.
