This week the U.S. Senate approved the tax extender’s legislation making the provisions retroactive to 2014. National Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evan s while happy with the Senate following suit with the House and sending it to the President says more long term relief is badly needed.
Evans says while his group will weigh in with the new Congress on overall tax reform, their first priority is long term help for their industry.
He says this constant uncertainty with Congress not acting on the tax credits until the end of the year continues to hurt the biodiesel industry.
Evans says when there’s been a stable RFS in place as well as the biodiesel tax credit the industry grows. He says without it not only is there uncertainty but growth is stifled.
