Late last week the U.S. House approved one of the tax extenders measures. That was for permanent small business tax breaks but did not include the wind production or biodiesel tax credits. National Biodiesel Board Vice President of Federal Affairs Anne Steckel says the House and Senate are approaching the tax extenders issue differently.
Steckel says the Senate Finance Committee has move tax extenders legislation forward for full Senate debate but resolution may not happen until after the November election. She says there have been some issues holding up passage of the measure.
Steckel says the biodiesel tax credit is needed to provide certainty for the industry moving forward.
