The Biodiesel industry wants the Environmental Protection Agency to increase the amount of biodiesel production in order to address climate change. The President wants carbon emissions reduced by 26 to 28 percent by 2025. National Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evans says to help achieve that goal, biodiesel production needs to be increased.
Evans says biodiesel is a big answer to getting to the climate change expectations the administration has.
He says setting higher targets for biofuels in the RFS is the only way to get to reach positive climate change goals.
Evans says by increasing biodiesel volumes by 350 million gallons per year would reduce CO 2 emissions in 2025 by 56 million metric tons.
