The delay by EPA in getting out the 2014 RFS volume obligations until next year isn’t setting well with one renewable fuel group. National Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evans says EPA is close to two years late already in setting the biodiesel standard. He says that’s hurting their industry.
Evans says smaller biodiesel producers are being hit by the hardest by the EPA decision.
Evans says the biodiesel standard is not set in statute like ethanol is. He says the volume levels for biodiesel should have been out by November of 2012 making them almost two years late. He says his Board will push the administration to get those levels out as soon as possible.
