Biodiesel Board Pushing For Tax Extenders Legislation

There’s been no movement yet in the Lame Duck Congress on the tax extender’s legislation. Some Senators have indicated it may be December before Congress takes it up if at all. National Biodiesel Board’s Ben Evans says that measure is a priority for his group’s members and needs to get done before the end of the year.
Evans says if lawmakers wait to act on the legislation next year and try to make it retroactive, that won’t work very well and will create many complications.
There are three critical components for agriculture in that package including the Section 179 deduction, the biodiesel tax credit and the wind production tax credit.
