National Biodiesel Board officials say imports of biodiesel from Argentina have increased significantly since the group filed complaints with the U.S. Commerce Department and International Trade Commission. Vice President of Federal Affairs Anne Steckel says their antidumping and countervailing complaint was filed against both Argentina and Indonesia and now imports are now not only still coming but at a higher rate than before.
She says NBB is looking at possible legal action in order to stop the imports.
Steckel says the retroactive would go back 90 days from when their first complaint was filed. She says the U.S. biodiesel industry is experiencing great losses from the flood of imports.
Steckel says the additional 75 million gallons of imported biodiesel is a major increase from levels seen in January, February and March.
