Research is continuing at South Dakota State University on the use of bio filters on livestock confinement facilities.

Bob Thaler, extension swine specialist at SDSU, says they have two operating hog units very near the campus in Brookings….

Thaler says the hog units did have bio filters installed….

Thaler says they are redesigning the air flow system.

Thaler says the use of bio filters in a hog confinement should be largely based on where that facility is located.
