President Obama has signed into law a bill co-sponsored by Senator Deb Fischer that would close old grant accounts and save the federal government money.
Fischer sponsored the GONE Act with a Democrat. It calls for state agencies to close grant accounts with zero balances, estimated to save nearly 900-Thousand dollars annually. . .

The federal government now spends as much as 173-Thousand dollars a month to maintain 28-Thousand grant accounts with nothing in them…

Fischer says next up is another bill she sponsors with a Democrat to help working families on paid leave, stating national security involves more than military action. . .
