Bill Mandates Pledge In Schools

The House State Affairs Committee of the South Dakota Legislature approved a bill that would mandate students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance each school day. The sponsor of the bill, Representative Hal Wick of Sioux Falls says it came about because of the Sioux Falls School Board decision to drop the pledge from their high schools…

No one spoke in opposition to the bill.

Representative Mike Verchio of Hill City made the do pass motion for the committee…

 

The bill passed unanimously and now moves to the House floor.
