Bill Focuses On Improving Rail Line

The South Dakota legislature is debating a bill that would fund repairs on a piece of state owned rail from Chamberlain west across the Missouri River. Sponsored by Senator Mike Vehle (valley) of Mitchell, it originally had six million dollars in it, that has been amended to a dollar.

The development west of the river has been based on the possibility of more grain loading facilities being built on the line. Yeaton says they have not seen any hard numbers on those developments…
