Bill Aimed at Protecting First Amendment Rights on University Campus Introduced in Nebraska Legislature

A Nebraska state senator has introduced a bill aimed at protecting First Amendment, free speech rights on the campuses of the University of Nebraska.

Senator Steve Halloran of Hastings calls his legislation an accountability bill

Halloran says the bill instructs the university to appoint a committee to investigate violations of free speech and report back the Unicameral

The NU Board of Regents will also get recommendations from a committee appointed by President Hank Bounds.
