Regular season finales in Big Ten basketball saw Nebraska and Iowa score victories while Minnesota went down to another defeat.
Isaac Copeland had 17 points and Nebraska opened a 21-point lead midway through the second half, then held off Penn State for a 76-64 win. Nebraska clinched the No. 4 seed and double-bye into the quarterfinals of next week’s conference tournament.
Jordan Bohannon scored 25 points with seven 3s and Iowa held off Northwestern 77-70 in its home finale, snapping a six-game losing streak. Luka Garza had 18 points for the Hawkeyes, who locked down the No. 12 seed for next week’s Big Ten tournament with its first victory in nearly a month. They’ll face Illinois on Wednesday in New York.
Dakota Mathias matched his career high with 25 points and led No. 9 Purdue to an 84-60 blowout over Minnesota. Carsen Edwards had 18 points as the Boilermakers won their second straight. Minnesota was led by Nate Mason with 18 points and Jordan Murphy who had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
