Both top seed Minnesota and second seed Nebraska will have to come through the losers bracket to win the Big Ten baseball tournament in Omaha.

Iowa’s Joel Booker tied a Big Ten tournament record with five hits as Iowa upset top-seeded Minnesota 8-2 Wednesday.

The Hawkeyes will play Ohio State in Thursday night’s winner’s bracket while the Gophers will meet Michigan in Thursday consolation round.

Left-hander Cam Vieaux allowed three hits over 8 2/3 innings and Michigan State scored all of its runs in the sixth in a 5-1 victory over Nebraska in the Big Ten tournament Wednesday.

Nebraska will face Indiana in a Thursday morning game.
