Big Ten, Big 12 In Tourney Mode

Iowa’s slump continued while Iowa State and Minnesota scored victories in tournament action in the Big Ten and Big 12 conferences Thursday.

The Hawkeyes lost for the sixth time in their last seven games while dropping a 67-62 decision to 11th seed Northwestern.

Minnesota advanced in the Big Ten event by topping Penn State 63-56. Up next for the Gophers will be Wisconsin in the quarterfinals.

Iowa State won a Big 12 shootout with Kansas State 91-85 after the two teams had split their regular season meetings. The Cyclones move on to face Kansas on Friday.
