Big Sioux River Projects Underway

While the South Dakota Department of Ag and Natural Resources works out plans for using three million dollars to improve water quality in the Big Sioux River, other projects are underway.

Jay Gilbertson, manager of the East Dakota Water Development District in Brookings, says they have had teams on the river all summer….

Gilbertson says they also have projects in the upper basin…

Gilbertson says they are also working with the Game, Fish and Parks Department in the basin…

The legislature this year set aside three million dollars for river improvements. DANR has been working on plans to use the money for grassy buffers along streams feeding into the Big Sioux River.
