The Big Sioux River has crested, and water levels are falling. State Emergency Management officials says they hope to have Interstate 29 reopened later this afternoon.
Todd Heitkamp at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says pressure came off the river yesterday……….

Heitkamp says the flood stage fell short of the record…………

There will be more thunderstorms this weekend, but Heitkamp says those should not have an impact on the river level…………

.

Crews are now working to remove the protective measures installed to prevent flooding in and near North Sioux City, McCook Lake and Dakota Dunes.
