Yankton City Commissioners were updated on the progress of new water treatment plant construction that is in its initial stages.

Director of Environmental Services Kyle Goodmanson said they have gotten bids back on the first phase, the collector well project…

Goodmanson says they will present the bids to the commission later this month…

The collector well is a major part of the new water plant project, which could cost almost thirty million dollars when done.

Goodmanson says the well project, which will be located at Paddle Wheel Point near the Missouri River, could run into some other issues…

The entire water treatment plant project is scheduled to be done by the middle of 2017.
