Michael Ewald, Communication Director for the South Dakota Democratic Party says the Sanders campaign has complied with all South Dakota Democratic Party requirements to appear on the primary ballot and it is the individual campaign’s responsibility to submit a letter of intent to the Secretary of State’s office.
Ewald says the Sanders campaign is aware of the requirement and has indicated the South Dakota Democratic Party the intention to appear in the June 7th primary.
Arianna Jones, a spokesperson for the Sanders campaign says the paperwork will be in place by the deadline. (March 29, 2016)
