Cattle producers can attend an upcoming Beef Quality Assurance program  to be compliant with the beef industry’s preferred standards.  Jes Fulton is the executive director with the Nebraska Beef Quality Assurance program. He says the cattle and beef industries started the Beef Quality Assurance certification program as a way to address the concerns of consumers., and it still holds true for today.

Fulton says more than half of the consumers surveyed said they had concerns about animal welfare.

Fulton says the BQA program covers topics like proper cattle management, handling, and vaccination methods that affect meat quality, plus transportation.  Fulton says a certification seminar will be held at Bloomfield, Nebraska on April 19th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Center.
