Sustainable Beef, a group of Nebraska cattle producers and investors are moving ahead with having a beef processing plant built in North Platte, Nebraska. Sustainable Beef CEO David Briggs says once their up and operating they’ll process 1500 head day or roughly 400,000 per year. He says they’ll begin that processing in the spring of 2023.
He says the economic benefit of the just under $300 MILLION plant will be significant for the state, the North Platte community and the region.
Briggs says the whole idea for this project came from a trade mission led by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts.
The Sustainable Beef processing plant is budgeted to have a $50 million payroll and an estimated annual economic impact on Lincoln County of $1 billion.
