The South Dakota Beef Industry Council with their beef checkoff funds are partnering with several South Dakota schools through their FACS Beef program. Beef Industry Council’s Director of Nutrition Holly Swee says the program helps gets beef into classrooms and helps teachers educate their students about that beef gets from the pasture to the plate.

She says with this program they’re able to give students a comprehensive view of the beef industry as well as a hands on experience.

Swee says they’re able to offer their FACS beef program to all sizes of schools and cover the entire state.

Swee says last year, they were able to reach 46 schools from across South Dakota and had a direct impact on approximately 6300 middle and high school aged students.
