The Cattlemen’s Beef Board will invest $42 million in programs for fiscal year 2016. Iowa Cattle Producer and Operating Committee member Scott McGregor, says at the September meeting in Denver, his committee approved checkoff funding for 11 proposals. He says $9 million goes towards promotion, $10.3 million to research, a little more than $8 million each to consumer information and foreign marketing.

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association will receive $30.3 million, the U.S. Meat Export Federation $8.4 million, with smaller amounts going to the CBB, North American Meat Association and others. He says these projects are a good investment for cattle producers.

The Cattlemen’s Beef Board fiscal year begins October 1, 2015.
