The number of active bald eagle nests in Nebraska is at an all-time high.
Game and Parks Nongame-bird Program Manager Joel Jorgensen says they counted 118 nests last year, but the number is likely a little higher than that.
He says the bald eagle has come a long way in 25-years….
Jorgensen says people have learned to leave the bald eagles alone and the birds are also very good at adapting to new environments….
Jorgensen says Nebraska bald eagle pairs have produced, on average, nearly two eagles per year.
