Members of the Appropriations Committee of the South Dakota legislature met Wednesday with backers of a casino gambling proposal in Yankton.
Rob Stephenson Chairman of Yankton Area Progressive Growth says they need to hear from lawmakers….

The group will ask the 2018 legislative session to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot, allowing one casino to be located in Yankton.
Stephenson says they know it will be difficult to push the issue through…..

Stephenson says people and dollars are going to out of state casinos, and some of that should be captured in South Dakota….

Backers of the plan have proposed a “Port Yankton” casino near the Missouri River.
