A steering committee backing efforts to develop a gaming and entertainment complex in Yankton publicly laid out their plans at a meeting of One Million Cups on Wednesday.

The group says the idea is modeled on development in Deadwood, where historic preservation has been funded by their casinos. Hunhoff says Yankton has more history than Deadwood…..

Voters would have to approve a change in the state constitution to allow one casino to be licensed. Hunhoff says it will take a lot of effort to achieve that…..

The committee estimates development costs of thirty five to forty million dollars, with potential yearly revenue of around forty million dollars.
