South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem had said she would call a special session of the legislature in June to deal with an expected budget hole caused by the pandemic. Now she says that may be pushed off to September, or possibly wait until the next regular session in 2021…

The state got one point two billion dollars as part of the economic rescue plan.
Noem says the rules on using that money are changing…

Noem says they are also getting some encouraging business reports..

Overall taxes to the state in April were down about thirty million dollars compared to last year.
