Avera Health is making a two hundred-thousand-dollar donation to the City of Yankton for improvements at Westside Park.

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital President Doug Ekeren says they wanted to extend their connection to the city….

Ekeren says with the park right across the street from the hospital, it’s a natural fit for them…

Yankton Mayor Stephanie Moser says the donation helps the city fund the necessary upgrades….

A master plan for the park was finalized in 2019 and lays out improvements to the playground equipment and repairs to the duck pond and artesian well that provides the water.
