Augustana To Contend In Baseball

Augustana baseball earned169 points and one first-place vote and was picked to finish third in the Northern Sun Intercollediate Conference Preseason Baseball Coaches’ poll.

Minnesota State was the unanimous pick to win the league
taking 14 first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own teams) to earn
the top billing for the fifth straight season. St. Cloud State was picked to
finish second, followed by Augustana in third. Wayne State and Winona State
each earned 150 points to tie for fourth and round-out the top five picks in
the preseason poll.

Minnesota Duluth’s Alex Wojciechowski was picked
as the NSIC’s Preseason Player of the Year along with Minnesota State’s Jason
Hoppe who was selected as the preseason pitcher of the year.
