 Augustana softball earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Central Region 1 Tournament and will host No. 8 seed East Central University (32-14) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at Bowden Field in Sioux Falls.

Augustana is making its 23rd NCAA Softball Tournament appearance in school history and has qualified for the regional tournament in six straight seasons.

Augustana owns a 50-9 record on the season, after winning the NSIC regular season championship, finishing 28-2 in conference play. Augustana has won three NSIC regular season titles after winning back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.

Central Oklahoma (40-18) earned the No. 4 seed and will play No. 5 seed Winona State (46-12) at Bowden Field at 1 p.m. on Friday.

Central Missouri is the No. 2 seed in the Central Region and will host the other half of the bracket. The Jennies will take on No. 7 seed Missouri Western. No. 3 seed Henderson State will play No. 6 seed Arkansas Tech.

The winners of the Central Region 1 and 2 Tournaments will move on to the Super Regional May 15-16, with the highest remaining seed serving as host.
