Augustana, Moorhead Top NSIC Women

The 2017 NSIC / Sanford Health Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket has been released as the 22-game regular season ended Saturday night.

MSU Moorhead (23-3, 20-2 NSIC) won the NSIC Overall and North Division Championships and will be the top seed in the north division.  Augustana (22-7, 17-5 NSIC) earned the No. 1 seed in the south division.

Concordia-St. Paul earned the three seed in the south after tying in the standings with Sioux Falls and Winona State at 15-7.  The Golden Bears swept Sioux Falls and split with Winona State on the season.  Sioux Falls earned the fourth seed as the Cougars split with Winona State on the season, had 8-6 division records, but the Cougars split with top seeded Augustana, while Winona State was swept by the Vikings.

The top four seeds in each division will host the 5-8 seeds from the opposite division on Wednesday, February 22.  The quarterfinals, semifinals and championship will take place on February 25, 27-28 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
